View from top of the crooked street in downtown San Francisco
Someday, when I have enough money to retire, I shall drive around the world. I have two more road-trips planned across the US, then some in India, and hopefully other parts of world too. But I will have to probably wait for time and money. I hope the drive still remains in me.

The Drive
As I look back at all the things that I have really enjoyed over the past 2 years, driving features on top of all other things. I had never driven a car in India. Once in US, it took me close to 6 months to get behind the wheels of one. For a lot of people, car is just a means of transportation from point A to B. To me, the drive is more enjoyable and entertaining than the destination itself. Some of the best conversation and best music that I have heard have been while cruising at 75 miles per hour on an interstate. A good company is always welcome, but even solitude seems blissful. Deprived of any music and conversation, I try and string together a train of thoughts as my the engine growls at close to 2000 rpm. Here are some beautifully drives......

driven through all the three. thanks to your tips on cross country road trip... utah still remains close to my heart and I will be visiting it next summers with mommy....
on my list are: driving in europe (I've been in the passenger seat in Autobahns though)...
and ofcourse driving a car in India(never done that either)
That is in my dreams too! my favorite place to drive is on a cricket field though! riding on hopes of millions is a different experience :))
The second photo is really beautiful. Great composition!
As for long drives, yes the music and the conversations really make them great, but for me the best part is actually implementing the 'enjoy the journey, not just the destination' theory.
@Susu...2 more grt US trips man...we have done on I-70...there is one on I-10 thru Houston, New Orleans, Jacksonville etc...and one on I-80/90 thru natl parks in north
@Totti..without license u r better off with ur dreams on cricket field...but u suck there too..only cross bat shots man..
@Casa..I live by the theory..even when I am stuck in bumper to bumper traffic in 8 laned freeways in LA :))
the photos are great. haven't been to California but Utah is one of my favorite places to visit because of the scenic drives. I would love to be a travelling journalist....on the road, drinking in the beauty and being able to translate it in a way that can reach others. may be in another life....
look at you, you poser! all you can think of is how to cog more, how to show off your mustang! man! people are just waiting at state college for you to come down and you will get some serious ass whipping :))
You are driving your Mustang from LA to State College?? Err.. how long is your holiday, again?
@Casa
No I am taking Boeing 767 this time....I heard it's much faster :)
Last time I used my car to drive from SC to LA..it costed me 9 days..and a few heartbreaks...
Unless your mustang transforms itself into batmobile, I'm sure the 767 will be faster ;)
I got confused with totti's comment about you showing off your mustang in SC... blame it on him ;)
and a few heartbreaks...
Ah, I smell gossip there... :D
