True Lovers (PG13)

"Get up you lazy bitch", screamed Alex from the verandah of his villa overlooking the Pacific at their multimillion dollar house in Rancho Paola Verdes. Tracy never took offense at Alex's harsh language, or rather she had learnt to accept it as a fate. So she let out a moan and rolled to the other side turning her back to the solitary ray of sun penetrating through the orifice in the window. Alex had prepared a breakfast of eggs and milk for her and demanded that she lap it up before they go for their regular Saturday morning exercise at Hahn Recreation Park.

Alex had bumped into Tracy at the parking lot of a local grocery store about 6 years ago. It was an unsually cold day and Tracy was wearing a fur coat, nevertheless she looked really cute. Alex's heart had melted even before Tracy threw a glance at him. They went home together that night, and have never been separated since them. The initial days were typical, a lot of cuddling and mushy-gushy talk. The moment Alex would return home from work, Tracy would leap into his wide shoulders and kiss him passionately. Alex was never a great kisser, and was a little reserved in showing his love and affection, especially in public, but Tracy made no bones about it. They could be spotted together at every cafe, every park and every beach in Southern California and seemed like they could never be separated. However their relationship had been on a slow decline. They still lived together, and Tracy still remained loyal to Alex. Alex had a always been of a garrulous kind, and Tracy would give a patient hearing to all his grievances. But their conversations had been reduced to a minimal, though Alex still did most of the talking. Tracy would laze at home all day long, reflecting on her sweet past while Alex would work his ass off as an investment banker.

The traffic on 405 was light on that Saturday morning, and it took them only 15 minutes to reach the recreation park. During their early years they would get a ball or a frisbee, and spend time exercising in the Park. But things had changed now, and they were happy just to spend time walking along the hills outlining the park. They never had a conversation on these walks, ocassionaly Alex would complain and Tracy would grunt in response.

Sam, adopted by millionaries Smith's, was also a regular visitor to the Park. He had seen Tracy 3 weeks ago, and ever since had nurtured a secret crush on her. He realised that she was going out with Alex, but it didn't take a fortune teller to predict that things were falling apart between her and Alex. Besides he knew that Alex was not of Tracy's kind. Sam visited the park eagerly with the hope that one day Tracy will show up alone, and then he would tell her how much he loved her.

10 patient weeks later his prayer almost came true. As Alex esconced himself by the Park bench to finish up his conference minutes, Tracy was wandering along the Park all alone. Sam ceased this opportunity and approached Tracy. At their first meeting, they didn't exchange any words; it was limited to glances, lustful and amorous from Sam, and plain inquisitive from Tracy's side. No one heard them speak, but there was surely a chemistry developing between them. With the passage of time, the initial friendly exchanges between Sam and Tracy were replaced by lustful moves, the brushing and touching had increased in lieu of Alex's "business on park bench" weekends. One fine day, in a moment of pure ecstacy, Tracy followed Sam to the secluded quarters of the Park behind the densely wooded areas and started making passionate love. Sam succeeded in pleasuring Tracy in a way Alex had never done before, and she was thoroughly enjoying it too, as they made love like animals.

Meanwhile Alex, who had lost sight of Tracy, started yelling and searching for her. It took him over half an over to trace the whereabouts of Tracy. When he finally did make it to the love spot, he was shocked behind words, his face suddenly lost color and his first reaction was to pick up the nearest piece of rock and aim it on Sam's head. Instead, he decided to walk back to the bench and give the 2 German shepherds a moment of privacy.

Nice try, but one could see it coming from the second para onwards. Perhaps if you'd kept it shorter?

"The Rising' really su ... I mean it's putrid. I can feel a rant coming up about that.

yup...I was trying to strike a balance between dropping some hints, and still not giving away the end...but I think the smart one figured out earlier than others...

Nicely done. I thought I had it figured but I read the bit about the 'investment banker' and got thrown off track. Good job.

@JAP
I saw ur comment on Sagnik's blog, after mine....if u happen to read my comment on "German Sheperd" on Sagnik's blog, and then read my story (on my blog)...then it was obviously easy to guess the ending....

but if this was not the correct sequence of events...then either u r brilliant or I am a poor story teller....or probably both !
